How does it work?

Albatross works in combination with Babelfish - an open source PostgreSQL extension from AWS that allows PostgreSQL to understand MSSQL queries.

Step 1

Schema migration

Albatross helps you migrate your schema from SQL Server to PostgreSQL.

Step 2

Catch-up

The tools runs an initial data copy then catches PostgreSQL up to the source SQL Server.

Step 3

Split traffic

Once PostgreSQL is 100% caught up, it starts sending all queries to both databases.

Step 4

Results log

Albatross logs queries along with their results to a CSV file for comparison.

Step 5

Turn off MSSQL and Albatross!
